Full Description:

Our Portland, OR client has an immediate need for an Big Data Engineer (Hadoop ecosystem, Spark)


You will help build a new data-mart in the Cloud (AWS)


Skill Set


OOP… either Python or Scala or Java or other


2+ years of Big Data experience – Hadoop Ecosystem tools (HDFS, MapReduce, Spark, etc.)


Recent experience with Spark is a plus – develop POCs in Spark for performance, writing Spark programs for ETL, converting SQL queries into Spark transformations


AWS or Cloud experience is nice to have (EC2, S3, EMR, RDS)


Understanding of data warehousing ETL concepts, relational databases
