The DevOps Engineer maintains and evolves operational environments in support of the Technology organization CI/CD initiatives and operational goals. The DevOps Engineer is responsible for achieving assigned objectives by delivering high quality technical services, providing support to other personnel, and assisting in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of the operational environment.
Provides high quality professional design, implementation and support services
Participates in the Operations Team 24x7 on-call rotation.
Performs Release and Maintenance activities on the production environment (and others), as required.
Follows up with project team and subject matter experts; identifies barriers to implementation, provides suggestions to resolve challenges and responds promptly to all stake holders’ needs.
Maintains accurate systems documentation.
Meets agreed targets and objectives as assigned.
Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates security needs on an ongoing basis.
Collaborates effectively with other teams and departments.
Maintains open communication with team members and others to identify and address issues, concerns and potential opportunities for improvement.
Analyzes system usage and efficiency, utilizing data and reports to propose recommended improvements.
Achieves assigned objectives in designated projects.
Completes process documentation and coding in accordance with internal guidelines.
Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame.
2-3+ years’ experience in a customer-facing production operations environment.
Experience with AWS technologies, including UI, SDK, and CLI access.
Experience securing distributed systems and web services implementations on Linux/AWS.
Experience implementing SSO using a central directory service such as IAM/Google/LDAP/Active Directory.
Experience in at least one of the following scripting languages: Python, Ruby or Bash.
Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, CFEngine or Ansible.
Experience with container scheduling and orchestration platforms - Consul/Nomad, Kubernetes, etc.
Experience with infrastructure automation tooling such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
Experience with MySQL databases and RDS; NoSQL databases, (particularly DynamoDB).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Outstanding interpersonal skills.
Ability to be flexible and able to adapt to immediate or unforeseen challenges.
Proven customer service skills enhanced by sound decision-making, problem resolution and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
Organized, focused and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
