• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of experience in UX/UI/CUI/VUI Design (or equivalent)

• Conceptual level creation of products
• Deep understanding of business models to create UX/CUI from scratch to product

• Create, Develop, Enhance, relationships with major brands across the group

Specialized Skills: Knowledge or certifications unique to this role
Required/Desired:
• Proven experience supporting all stages of product design process to create from scratch to final product
• High level of engagement and self-initiative

• Strong communication skills, problem solving abilities, and influencing and negotiation skills
• Create emotional user stories to evoke the brands in the concepts created from scratch
• Strong UX/CUI and Human Factors methods expertise
• Proven leadership skills and project management experience in interdisciplinary and inter-organizational teams
• Detailed knowledge of specific usability issues and human factors issues around product interfaces
• Understanding of Motion Graphics

Work Flexibility: Physical requirements, travel requirements, work schedule, etc.
• International and domestic travel to meet with internal/external partners (Requires US Passport)
• Regular conference attendance for UX/CUI topics in the industry
• Travel for internal and external shows for communication of project progress, results, and transfer

Role Summary:
The group focuses on research and development of leading edge technologies with the goal to meet the future mobility needs of the customer. The company also works to test and validate North American products and systems to improve and localize those products for the market.

Usability (“UX”) work at the company has always spanned these diverse goals of the R&D teams. Value as UX designer to the group is to support the customer experience at all stages of the product development process, from blue-sky concept ideation to benchmark usability testing of company's products on market versus competitor’s products. The goal of the group UX program centers on a core aspect of the group’s mission statement: “improving the customer experience.”

Usability Program Development and Management – (60%)
• Lead field of work in the R&D group to sustainably bring ideas to life
• Define scope, timeline, and deliverables
• Track project timeline and resources
• Mentor a business level group cluster from the UX/CUI level
• Lead interaction with project partners/mentors within the group to ensure proper knowledge transfer with proper documentation for the relevant parties within the company
• Align individual goals with team goals, and company vision/mission
• Take ownership of the group, and design specific cluster performance metrics
• Drive work with Team Leaders to insert best-practices UX/CUI into team roadmaps
• Design UX methodologies, as well as; train and mentor others at company with best practice UX techniques
• Initiate and implement partnerships with external partners (companies, research institutions, universities).
• Drive work with partners across the Brands and The Group to standardize and improve UX
• Transfer actionable improvements for improving customer experiences to the relevant parties within the R&D Group
• Present project/progress reports and presentations to top management, mentors, partners, and project affiliates.
• Initiate, organize and lead management, PR, and Lobbying meetings
• Represent comany at conferences, regulatory authorities, and the media

Network Development – (10%)
• Secure internal project funding for initiatives from Brands and Group
• Expand network between company and local Tier 1, Tier 2, and Universities
• Develop supplier network with local Silicon Valley companies
• Communicate regularly and influencer's, internal stakeholders, exec mgt. and partners in Europe

Resource Management – (10%)
• Help to strategically organize personnel around usability activities at company
• Facilitate networking opportunities for team members
• Provide research, design, and engineering skill development opportunities for group members
• Manage internal/external project budget and resources for team, grow own sub-business

Strategic Management – (20%)
• Drive strategic planning for team project portfolio
• Secure intellectual property and develop roadmaps with an automotive focus
• Manage portfolio of intellectual property in the field
• Lead research and development activities to improve products/systems across all functions
• Provide a Research and Development focus
