Content Strategist

Locations: San Francisco, CA or Oakland, CA.

Job Type: 24 month contract

 

Seeking a Content Strategist that loves words but also understand that content is more than just copy.

 

We are proud that we were one of the first banks to go online, and have never stopped innovating. Our user-centered process is exhibited from concept to launch. Content Strategists are equal partners with Designers for all of our engagements and they often lead engagements.

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Possess an understanding of the user-centered design process. This includes personas, task analysis, task flows, content audits, content strategies and user testing.

  • Understands how business rules work with customer experience making you effective in bridging the gap from ideation and what’s technically possible.

  • Is hyper-organized and able to work on several projects at once

 

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Collaborating with Designers, Content Strategists, Producers and Researchers on multi-device experiences for product information, tools and applications.

  • Creating content strategies that meet customer needs and business goals

  • Writing and editing copy.

  • Often acting as project lead, coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams, writing creative briefs, estimating scope and sizing, and handling escalations.

  • Working with project teams to understand business goals and identify customer needs.

  • Performing light interaction design and information architecture

 

Minimum qualifications

  • 3-5 years of content strategy and writing experience, with at least 1-2 years as an online content strategist and writer for large, public-facing company/websites

  • Mobility experience

  • Experience developing and implementing content strategies for large sites or large sections of sites

  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams

  • Deep familiarity with user-centered design principles

  • Experience developing and owning digital editorial standards and guidelines

  • Experience managing vendors and contractors

  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Demonstrated ability to persuade partners and diplomatically resolve conflict

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word and comfort with PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with content management systems

  • Some experience with information architecture
