Database Engineer
This position involves leading complex and high-priority database management projects across multiple disciplines and business units, including database architecture, design, integration, and data modeling. You will provide expert technical guidance for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and oversight of server-class databases. The role requires analyzing and evaluating advanced database technologies, including uncharted or unprecedented factors, and designing next-generation database solutions. Additionally, you will assist in database installations, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements to web application performance. You will collaborate with various client groups to deliver strategic solutions and influence long-term enterprise-level database architecture and management strategies. As a technical leader, you will help shape the future of database technologies and work with peers and teams to resolve challenges and achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of database engineering experience, or equivalent (work experience, training, military experience, or education)
- 6+ years of Oracle database administration experience
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of PostgreSQL administration experience
- 5+ years of database engineering experience
- 3+ years of experience with MongoDB, GoldenGate, or Yugabyte
- 2+ years of performance tuning experience
- Experience monitoring databases for errors, such as locks or failed updates
- Proven track record in leading automation initiatives
Job Expectations:
- 12×7 on-call support required
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
