Our client in the Medical Field is looking for a Hardware Engineer to help lead the development of a new therapeutic product. 
 

Job Description

  • HW Bring-Up, Testing, Layouts, R&D projects.
  • Develop bench test methods and perform/delegate hands-on testing of products as appropriate.
  • Support hardware development through all phases of the product development process, including schematic drafting, HW risk analysis, PCB/PCBA layout, architecture and design input, prototyping and debugging, SW integration, and verification.
    • Contribute to the full product development lifecycle.
      • Manufacturing integration and hardware sustaining activities for the life of the product.
      • Participate in electrical hardware detailed design from prototype to commercial transfer.
  • Deliver medical-grade hardware designs that meet defined requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work throughout all phases of development and product life per ISO 13485 / 21CFR Part 11.

Required / Desired:
  • Proficiency with debug tools such as logic/protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes; and building of prototypes – with basic R&D electrical assembly skills.
  • Development of product-driven bench test methods & ability to perform hands-on testing as well as test result interpretation/reporting.
  • Strong understanding of circuits. — circuit analysis, analog data acquisition, signal conditioning, hardware filters, signal processing, power electronics, and common digital standards for human-machine interfaces.
  • Verification experience.
  • Experience developing schematics and layouts in Altium.
  • Knowledge of microcontroller platforms; preferred Microchip 8-bit and ARM Cortex M.
  • Hardware design skills, with considerations towards risk mitigation, reliability, maintainability, DFM, testability, etc.
  • Ability to design complex digital, analog, and mixed-signal multilayer PCB layouts including schematics, component selection, and BOM – Most Preferred.
    • Multi-point digital communications architectures including BUS and star topologies.
    • Experience with IoT, BLE, and WiFi Experience designing resource constrained battery powered (Li-ion) devices/systems.
    • Strong experience with common digital interfaces such as UART, MIPI, I2C, SPI. Previous design experience and commercial deployment of IoT appliances and cloud computing.
    • Experience with lithium ion battery systems including charging, cell protection, and energy monitoring hardware.
  • Experience in a startup or small and agile development teams.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related
