Applications Manager

Overview:
Seeking an experienced Applications Manager to oversee the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of enterprise applications. This role is responsible for aligning application solutions with business objectives, managing the application support team, and ensuring seamless integration and performance across systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure applications meet business requirements, user needs, and performance expectations

  • Assess current systems for effectiveness and recommend enhancements

  • Research, evaluate, and implement new software solutions

  • Oversee application deployment, configuration, and integration across the organization

  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, and stakeholders during software testing and implementation

  • Ensure compliance with system specifications and interface requirements

  • Develop and deploy application upgrades and enhancements

  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate software/service contracts

  • Coordinate with IT teams for quality assurance, data processing, and technical troubleshooting

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of systems and associated agreements

  • Lead user training, create documentation, and support end-user adoption

  • Direct the application support team, providing coaching, performance reviews, and operational guidance

  • Organize end-user feedback and system performance reviews

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in applications or systems management

  • 3+ years in a team leadership or management role

  • Proven experience with software implementation and lifecycle management

  • Familiarity with enterprise software tools, including core banking systems such as FIS, Fiserv, Finastra, Temenos, or Jack Henry

  • Understanding of software QA methodologies and best practices

  • Solid grasp of PC and network operating systems, protocols, and hardware

  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and compliance standards
