Senior Media Engineer – Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Media Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance systems involved in the acquisition, production, and distribution of media content across both traditional broadcast and IP-based environments. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software, requiring hands-on experience with media workflows, system troubleshooting, cloud platforms, and broadcast standards.

Sunday–Tuesday: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Wednesday: 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Key Responsibilities

Respond to and resolve issues across playout, production, post-production, and distribution systems.

Help upgrade IPTV boxes in campus production areas.

Contribute to RF and transmission-related projects.

Monitor system health and performance; apply software patches and updates.

Troubleshoot SDI and IP-based video/audio signals (e.g., ST 2110).

Support and maintain cloud and virtual environments.

Perform preventive maintenance on production and distribution systems.

Participate in documentation, system upgrades, and cross-functional engineering projects.

Provide training and collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers.

Assist in long-range planning and capital improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in live production, media engineering, or broadcast environments.

Strong troubleshooting skills with video/audio, IP broadcast workflows, and cloud platforms.

Hands-on experience with SMPTE standards (ST 2110, ST 2059, ST 292M, etc.).

Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and DevOps tools.

Certified or experienced with AWS, Azure, or other cloud services.

Strong understanding of compression formats (MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG2000).

Experience with media control systems like Evertz, Imagine, Ross, Lawo, and Viz.

Ability to interpret AutoCAD and other technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with RF, fiber, and satellite transmission systems.

Familiarity with Media Asset Management systems and post-production workflows.

Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3) and monitoring tools like Datadog or CloudWatch.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
