Mainz Brady Group is seeking an experienced Media Engineer II to support production, broadcast, and content distribution across multiple networks. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining systems, and ensuring reliable delivery in fast-paced live media environments.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting production, broadcast, and streaming environments (SDI, IP 2110, compression formats).
- Monitor, maintain, and upgrade broadcast systems, servers, and workflows.
- Support system health, performance monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate on engineering projects, system documentation, and peer training.
- Manage service providers, equipment procurement, and long-term technology planning.
- Provide operational support across enterprise media distribution systems.
- 3+ years of experience in live media production and distribution environments.
- Proficient in SMPTE standards (ST 292M, ST 2110, ST 2022-7, etc.).
- Experience with cloud and on-prem storage/compute platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
- Skilled in compression (MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000/XS) and broadcast control systems (Evertz, Imagine, Grass Valley, etc.).
- Knowledge of file-based workflows, MAM systems, encoding/transcoding, and studio technology.
- Strong troubleshooting of IP-based broadcast equipment, production control, and transmission systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings (AutoCAD or equivalent).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to work at heights and with lift equipment.
- Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
