Technical Project Manager – Utilities
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in the utilities sector and deep expertise in energy markets, including CAISO, WEIM, and emerging frameworks such as EDAM.
This role will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of technology, power trading, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience supporting power procurement and trading operations, with a strong understanding of settlements processes tied to power purchase agreements (PPAs). These “complex settlements” involve reconciling and financially clearing energy transactions across multiple markets, counterparties, and time intervals—often requiring large datasets, sophisticated pricing models, congestion cost analysis, and strict adherence to regulatory timelines. Accuracy and auditability are critical, as these processes directly impact financial reporting, risk exposure, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives supporting energy trading, settlements, and risk/compliance functions
- Partner with stakeholders across trading, risk, and accounting to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions
- Drive a major initiative to upgrade the Endur platform, including evaluating and potentially executing a migration to a cloud-based environment
- Manage dependencies across internal engineering teams, external vendors, and market operators
- Ensure solutions align with regulatory requirements and industry standards
- Navigate complex, data-intensive environments with a focus on accuracy, performance, and compliance
Qualifications
- Strong experience as a Technical Project Manager within utilities, energy, or power markets
- Deep familiarity with CAISO, WEIM, and/or EDAM frameworks
- Hands-on experience supporting power trading, procurement, and settlements processes
- Experience with Endur or similar energy trading and risk management platforms
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional, and highly regulated initiatives
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to bridge business and engineering teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
