We are seeking a skilled Project/Release Manager with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This remote role requires working in the PST time zone, with preferred locations in Oregon, Washington, or Texas.

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years of Project/Release Management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Project
  • Excellent communication skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • MS in Software Engineering or an MBA
  • Project management certification is a plus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage application releases in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Build, and QA teams to plan releases based on defined milestones
  • Work with Engineering to minimize the impact of code merges and branch conflicts
  • Engage with both Engineering and Business teams to prioritize enhancements and bug fixes for releases
  • Analyze blockers, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and communicate release status
  • Create and manage change tickets, implementation plans, and rollback strategies
  • Lead Go-Live activities and ensure smooth execution of deployment plans
  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies and engineering standards for all production deployments
  • Conduct defect triage meetings and develop future avoidance strategies
  • Drive the adoption of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and Agile practices
  • Create metrics and dashboards for a data-driven approach to releases
  • Maintain a knowledge repository of build and release procedures

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing projects and programs as part of release management
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet)
  • Familiarity with tools like SharePoint, ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence
  • Technical knowledge of development tools, source control, and CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins, Python)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
  • Knowledge of change management processes, including SOX/SOC guidelines
  • Self-motivated, team player with great attention to detail and accountability
