Network Engineer
Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, and ongoing optimization of enterprise network infrastructure supporting 24x7x365 operations. This role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network, cloud, and hybrid environments across the organization.
This position serves as a senior technical resource across switching, firewall, SD-WAN, cloud networking, and infrastructure security technologies. The role also supports Microsoft cloud platforms including Azure, Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365 services.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engineering & Infrastructure

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network architectures.

Maintain Windows and Linux servers along with virtualization infrastructure.

Configure, manage, and optimize networking equipment including switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, and SD-WAN devices (Fortinet and Cisco preferred).

Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of network performance and connectivity issues.

Maintain high availability through redundancy, clustering, and load balancing strategies.

Implement QoS policies, VLAN architecture, IP addressing schemes, routing protocols (including BGP), and network segmentation.

Partner with security leadership to research, recommend, and implement network security solutions.

Participate in infrastructure projects and additional duties as required.
Microsoft Cloud & Modern Workplace Administration

Administer and secure Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Defender.

Manage Azure infrastructure including virtual networks, firewalls, VPN gateways, private endpoints, Entra ID, and conditional access policies.

Support endpoint management through Microsoft Intune including device configuration, compliance policies, and application deployment.

Implement identity governance, multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and zero-trust security models.

Support hybrid Active Directory environments including domain controllers, group policies, and directory synchronization.
Security & Firewall Administration

Configure and maintain Fortinet FortiGate firewalls including security policies, NAT, SD-WAN rules, logging, and VPN configurations.

Perform ongoing network security hardening, auditing, and vulnerability remediation.

Respond to security incidents including traffic analysis, intrusion detection, and threat mitigation.
Server, Virtualization & Infrastructure Operations

Support virtualization platforms including Nutanix and Hyper-V.

Assist with server integration, platform compatibility testing, and infrastructure optimization.

Participate in infrastructure capacity planning and performance monitoring aligned with business requirements.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

Develop, maintain, and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Ensure network infrastructure resiliency and recovery readiness.
Required Experience
-
3–5+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, cloud administration, or infrastructure engineering roles.

Experience supporting enterprise networking environments including routing, switching, firewalls, and cloud networking.

Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and infrastructure optimization skills.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
