Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead – Assortment Planning

Mainz Brady Group is seeking a Senior Developer & AI Innovation Lead to modernize a critical Assortment Planning platform used by Sport Planners across Footwear, Apparel, and Equipment.

This is a transformation-focused role where you’ll lead the evolution of a legacy Excel/VBA-based planning tool into a modern, cloud-native, AI-powered platform. You’ll drive architecture, development, AI strategy, and delivery while partnering directly with business users to improve forecasting, planning, and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of a legacy planning platform using cloud-native technologies and AI capabilities.
• Design and develop scalable applications, data pipelines, and intuitive planning experiences.
• Identify and implement AI/ML use cases including forecasting, anomaly detection, intelligent recommendations, and natural language interactions.
• Partner closely with planners to rapidly deliver enhancements and improve business workflows.
• Own the full software development lifecycle from design through production support.
• Support the existing platform during migration and transition efforts.
• Mentor team members and champion AI-first engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, or cloud-native technologies.
• Experience delivering AI/ML-powered solutions in production environments.
• Proven success modernizing legacy applications and business processes.
• Experience building data-intensive applications and scalable architectures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders.
• Self-starter capable of defining technical direction and driving execution.

Preferred

• Demand Planning, Assortment Planning, or Merchandise Planning experience.
• Excel/VBA modernization experience.
• LLMs, AI Agents, Copilots, and Prompt Engineering.
• Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or modern data platforms.
• Retail, consumer products, or supply chain technology experience.
