3 days in office in Seattle or Santa Monica, CA

Role Overview: We seek a Senior Software Engineer to design and grow data products and services using AWS, Databricks, Airflow, and Spark, with primary languages Scala and Java.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & Growth: Enhance Playback Data Products and Services.
  • Data Warehousing: Develop scalable ETL pipelines in Big Data environments.
  • Data Processing: Create systems for data query, processing, and delivery.
  • Architecture: Collaborate on designs for maintainability and observability.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed work documentation.
  • Operational Efficiency: Ensure high-quality solutions to meet SLAs.
  • Agile Practices: Participate in agile/scrum processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in software/data engineering.
  • Experience with data pipelines (Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, Airflow).
  • Cloud development experience (AWS preferred).
  • Proficient in SQL, NoSQL, Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Strong data modeling and analysis skills.
  • Familiar with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MPP/cloud databases (Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query).
  • Familiarity with AWS/cloud infrastructure and test-first development.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and warehousing best practices.
