Software Test Technician – Medical Device Software
Location: Minnetonka, MN
We’re looking for an experienced Software Test Technician to support software and integrated system releases within a regulated medical device environment. This role is heavily focused on hands-on software testing and test automation, including developing and executing manual and automated test cases using C#, WPF, C++, and automated testing frameworks.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated software test scripts and test cases.
- Build automated test tools using C#, WPF, and C++.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using NUnit, Google Test, JUnit, or comparable frameworks.
- Verify software against approved requirements, design specifications, and test plans.
- Set up and maintain hardware/software test benches, test environments, and laboratory equipment.
- Document test results, defects, anomalies, and verification evidence with strong traceability.
- Identify, log, track, retest, and support resolution of software defects.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results within Jama.
- Support automated test execution and reporting through Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, V&V, and Quality teams to ensure appropriate test coverage.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for software defects.
- Support testing of image processing and visualization features, including DICOM-based imaging workflows.
- Maintain audit-ready testing documentation and support regulatory audits and inspections.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of software development and/or software testing experience.
- Hands-on application development experience with C# and WPF.
- Experience with C++ development and/or test automation.
- Hands-on experience with NUnit, Google Test, JUnit, or similar automated test frameworks.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, software testing methodologies, and software quality assurance.
- Experience executing software Verification & Validation (V&V) activities, preferably within a regulated environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, defect tracking, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Nice to Have
- Medical device or regulated industry experience.
- VTK/ITK and DICOM image processing or visualization experience.
- Jama requirements management experience.
- Jenkins and CI/CD automation experience.
